This volume of The 826 Quarterly showcases the best poetry, short fiction, and nonfiction written by kids in the San Francisco Bay Area. Past issues have covered everything from skort-wearing to mole removal to a math equation involving a chicken and a potato. Topics in this seventh issue include a 30-minute high school love affair, a sewer cleaner who teams up with a rock to save their city, and the world’s oldest two-year-old. The pieces were selected by the students and adults at McSweeney’s 826 Valencia writing center, who combed through hundreds of submissions to find the stories presented here.
